Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
Editorial Policy :
Manuscripts submitted for potential publication in the Indian Journal of Health Care, Medical & Pharmacy Practice are expected to meet the following guidelines:
- It should not have been published elsewhere, submitted concurrently, or been accepted for publication elsewhere.
- Authors must identify one of them as the major correspondent with the Journal.
- Upon receipt, all manuscripts are quickly acknowledged.
- Initially, the editors review submissions for suitability. Those that lack originality, severe scientific or technical errors, or a compelling message are flatly rejected.
- Manuscripts deemed inappropriate for the journal's readership may also be rejected at this stage.
- Submissions that match the journal's criteria are peer reviewed by at least two experts chosen at the discretion of the editor. Authors may propose reviewers, although this is not required.
- Reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other during the double-blind review process.
- Editorial team members, based on reviewer feedback, make the final decision on manuscript acceptance.
- Authors are provided with reviewers' comments and may be asked to revise their manuscript accordingly.
- Accepted manuscripts undergo copy editing for grammar, punctuation, style, and format.
- Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author for correction, with a three-day turnaround time.
- Corrections received after this period may not be accommodated.
- The entire process, from submission to final decision and proofing, is conducted online.
- Accepted articles are swiftly published online as 'Ahead of Print' to expedite dissemination of knowledge.
Peer-review Policy
At the Indian Journal of Health Care, Medical & Pharmacy Practice (IJHMP), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence and research integrity. To ensure the quality, originality, and scientific value of all published content, IJHMP follows a double-blind peer review process.
1. Review Process
- All manuscripts submitted to IJHMP undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability, originality, and alignment with the journal's scope.
- Manuscripts that meet these criteria are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers.
- The identity of both the authors and reviewers is kept anonymous throughout the review process to promote fairness and objectivity.
2. Reviewer Selection
- Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, expertise in the relevant subject area, and prior review experience.
- Reviewers are expected to declare any conflicts of interest and maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content.
3. Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality and significance of the research
- Relevance to the field of HealthCare, Medical and Pharmacy
- Soundness of methodology and data analysis
- Clarity, coherence, and structure of the presentation
- Validity of conclusions and ethical compliance
4. Decision and Revision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Reject
Authors are provided with constructive feedback and, if necessary, are invited to revise and resubmit the manuscript for further review.
5. Timeframe
- IJHMP strives to complete the peer review process within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of submission.
6. Ethical Standards
- Plagiarism, falsification of data, and unethical research practices will result in immediate rejection.
7. Appeals and Complaints
- Authors may appeal editorial decisions with a detailed justification. Appeals will be independently reviewed by an editorial board member not involved in the original decision.
Advertising Policy
IJHMP reserves the right to reject any advertisement that does not comply with its advertising policy.
- Advertisements that are indecent, offensive, or discriminatory on personal, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or religious grounds, whether in text or artwork, will not be accepted.
- IJHMP will decline advertisements for products or services that are harmful to health, such as tobacco and alcohol.
- Product advertorials will not feature treatment-specific or drug-specific campaigns linked to specific articles about the advertised products.
Advertisements or product information on the IJHMP website do not imply endorsement or approval by the Journal or its publisher regarding the quality or claims of the advertised products. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by any advertisements on the website.
Ahead of Print Policy
Articles published online under the “Ahead of Print” model are deemed officially published and can be cited using their DOI as the reference. IJHMP does not permit changes to articles post-publication unless they comply with established procedures for correcting the scientific record.
Revenue Sources
IJHMP is a self-funded, open-access journal available in an online. Article publication charges (APCs) from authors are the primary source of revenue, covering administrative operational costs. A small portion of additional income is generated through Publication.
The APC structure is designed to be inclusive, offering discounted rates for authors from low- and middle-income countries. Expenses such as web hosting, pre-press preparations, print production, and staff salaries are supported through these funding sources.
