Abstract:
Biologically active natural pharmaceutical excipients and their substructures have long been valuable in drug
development and formulation strategies. The article explores biologically active gums, resins and mucilage used
as pharmaceutical excipients and their applications in phytopharmaceuticals drug development. Being natural
products with therapeutic activities, these compounds present a broad scope in their refinement and applications
in today’s pharmaceuticals. The article casts light on pharmaco-therapeutically active excipients that give an
insight into medications today and their practical implementation in pharmacotherapy.
